Black Tourmaline
Tourmaline is a well-know crystal for their use in Jewelry. It is a crystalline boron silicate mineral compounded with elements such as aluminium, iron, magnesium, sodium, lithium, or potassium.
Tourmaline is classified as a semi-precious stone and the gemstone its varieties span the widest color ranges in the mineral world. There are tourmalines in all possible colors and tints and in every mixture of shades one can think of.
Black Tourmaline, also called Schorl is the black, opaque, sodium iron rich variety of Tourmaline, a complex borosilicate with a trigonal crystal system.
Tourmalines usually occur as long, three-sided prisms, which often have well-terminated ends.
